The right royal beach shoes

Whilst the royals, Kate and William, visited Manly beach, Kate inspired many a headline about her choice of shoes. Kate wore wedges. And wedges at the beach, we were told, are a fashion fail! Wedges, apparently, are not beach attire.

But did anyone notice what Willam was wearing - a suit jacket, pants and dress shoes. So, that is beach wear?

William can wear a suit jacket, pants and dress shoes to the beach and not even raise an eyebrow, but when Kate wears summer wedges and a summer dress, she is considered to be dressed inappropriately?
